Experimental R&D engineer

Reports to: VP Physics & metallurgy

Magnus-Metal Ltd. is an early-stage start-up company, developing a new additive casting process for the manufacturing of very large metal parts. The process outputs cast metal parts based upon the customer’s CAD file. Our development machine has proven the technology and process, and we are currently recruiting excellent professionals to join our multi-disciplinary R&D team which was assigned to meet the challenging scale-up issues.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experimental engineer to be part of the physics and materials R&D team and to contribute to the development of our core technologies. You’ll be involved in a variety of tasks, including:

  • R&D Systems Operations: Operating, calibrating, modifying, and maintaining R&D dedicated digital casting systems.
  • Performing experiments: Conducting and analyzing experiments as part of the physics & metallurgy department’s research, while keeping meticulous documentation.
  • Constructing experimental setups: Design, integrate and automate experimental jigs, combining aspects of mechanical design, control, programing and signal analysis.
